Digging out a driveway
The classic pairing. Mini digger loading, dumper running the spoil out to the skip or the wagon, and a job that takes two days with barrows done in one.
Micro DiggerGoes through a standard side gate when nothing else will.More info about the Micro DiggerTakes a day off most driveway jobs.

A site dumper carrying a tonne. On a driveway or a groundworks job it shifts spoil and hardcore faster than a gang with barrows, and it does it all day without getting slower.
Ring the yard and tell us where you are tipping. Whether the skip swivels decides how much room you need to work in, and that is a question worth settling before the machine turns up rather than after.
It needs 1.4m of clear width, which means a driveway or double gates rather than a side gate. If your access is a standard 900mm gate this is the wrong machine and the tracked dumper, at 690mm, is the right one.
It also needs somewhere to turn and somewhere to tip. Getting it through the gap is only half of it.
500mm wider than a standard side gate, so it needs double gates or a drive.
Measure the tightest point of the whole route in, not just the gate. The 1t dumper is one of the machines it fits past.
Ring the yard if a figure matters to your job and we will check it against the machine before you travel.

The classic pairing. Mini digger loading, dumper running the spoil out to the skip or the wagon, and a job that takes two days with barrows done in one.
Tonnes of type 1 from the front of the house to the back, before the plate ever comes out.
Spoil away from the dig and concrete or hardcore back in, on a site where the pile has to go somewhere that is not the middle of the garden.
Broken concrete and brick out to the skip. Heavy, awkward, and exactly what a dumper is for.
Where the volume has gone past what a tracked barrow sensibly does in a day.
A tonne of capacity, on ground that is firm enough to take a wheeled machine.
Tell us the job and the dates. We will say whether it is in, when it is back if it is out, and whether it is the right machine for what you are doing.
Pick it up from the yard on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, or we will deliver it to site. If you ring early enough and it is free, it can often go out the same day.
We off hire it from the day you ring rather than the day it happens to come back, and collect it from site if we delivered it.

A tonne is a tonne when the skip is level. Heaped and wet, it is more than the machine is rated for and it handles like it.
Travel up and down a slope rather than across it, keep the load downhill, and do not tip on a cross fall. Most dumper accidents are this.
One seat, one person. Passengers on a dumper is the other common way people get hurt on a site.
Around here that matters. A skip that looks half full of Cheshire or Staffordshire clay can already be at capacity.
Where you are tipping wants to be firm and level and not the edge of something. Dumpers have gone into skips, ditches and holes they were emptying into.
It comes fuelled and tested. Watch the level on a full day and ask at the yard what they want doing about fuel before you bring it back.
Used Elite for the first time after using other companies before, wow what a breath of fresh air, prompt replies to messages, Cameron dropped the micro digger off and what a credit to the company he is…
Neil Gerrard · Micro digger
Fantastic experience with Elite Plant Hire! I hired a mini digger and a tracked dumper, and both were top-quality, modern, and reliable machines…

The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a couple of minutes off the A500, so most of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short run either way. Collect it yourself if you have something that can carry or tow it, or we will deliver it to site and collect it when you are finished.
Not to hire it from us, but you do need to know what you are doing. If you have not driven one, say so when you ring. Most dumper accidents are slopes, overloading and passengers, and all three are avoidable.
No. It needs 1.4m of clear width, so it wants a driveway or double gates. If all you have is a standard side gate, take the tracked dumper instead, which gets through 690mm.
Ring and ask, because it decides how much room you need. A swivel skip tips to the side as well as straight ahead, so you can empty into a skip or a trench alongside without turning the machine round, and in a tight space that is the whole job.
Almost always. Loading a dumper by hand wastes most of what it gives you. Most people take the mini digger and this together and finish in a day.
Ring the yard and you get a straight answer on whether the 1t dumper is available, when it is back if it is out on hire, and whether it is the right thing for what you are doing. If it is not, we will say so.
