Bricklaying and blockwork
Mortar for garden walls, extensions and repointing, mixed consistently all day rather than by hand.
Micro DiggerGoes through a standard side gate when nothing else will.More info about the Micro DiggerMixes faster than you can barrow it, which is the whole point.

A tip-up mixer on a stand, petrol driven so it needs no supply on site. It handles mortar for brickwork and pointing, muck for bedding slabs, and small concrete pours such as post bases, shed bases and footings you are doing by hand.
Petrol matters more than people expect. Half the jobs this goes out on have no power anywhere near them, and a 240V mixer on the end of an extension lead run from the house is a bad afternoon waiting to happen.
For anything up to a couple of cubic metres spread over a day, yes. Mixing by hand in a barrow is fine for a bag or two and miserable beyond that, and the mix quality drops off as you get tired.
Past roughly two cubic metres in a single pour, ready-mix delivered is usually the better answer. The mixer is for jobs too small for a wagon and too big to do in a barrow, which is most domestic work.
290mm to spare through a standard timber side gate.
Measure the tightest point of the whole route in, not just the gate. The cement mixer is one of the machines it fits past.
Ring the yard if a figure matters to your job and we will check it against the machine before you travel.
Six of the jobs the cement mixer goes out on most. Keep scrolling and they stack.
Mortar for garden walls, extensions and repointing, mixed consistently all day rather than by hand.
Muck for patios and paths, mixed at the pace you can actually lay it.
A run of postcrete is fine by hand, but a proper concrete mix for gate posts and heavier work wants a mixer.
Small slabs poured in one go. Keep the mix consistent between loads or you get a weak line through it.
Filling a trench where a wagon cannot get to and a pump would be overkill.
Mixing sand and cement screed for floors and thresholds.
Tell us the job and the dates. We will say whether it is in, when it is back if it is out, and whether it is the right machine for what you are doing.
Pick it up from the yard on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, or we will deliver it to site. If you ring early enough and it is free, it can often go out the same day.
We off hire it from the day you ring rather than the day it happens to come back, and collect it from site if we delivered it.

It runs off its own engine, so no supply needed and no extension lead trailing across a wet site. It comes to you fuelled and tested.
On its stand, on firm level ground, with room to get a barrow under the drum. Setting up on soft ground is how mixers end up on their side halfway through a pour.
Rinse the drum between mixes and properly at the end of the day. Set mortar in a drum is a genuine job to chip out and it is the most common reason a mixer comes back in a state.
A 90 litre mix is a useful load. Knowing how many mixes a pour needs tells you whether this is the right machine or whether you want ready-mix.
You get the mixer. We do not supply materials, an operator or a labourer.
Usually straight out if you ring early enough and it is not already out with someone.
Used Elite for the first time after using other companies before, wow what a breath of fresh air, prompt replies to messages, Cameron dropped the micro digger off and what a credit to the company he is…

The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a couple of minutes off the A500, so most of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short run either way. Collect it yourself if you have something that can carry or tow it, or we will deliver it to site and collect it when you are finished.
Ours is a 130 litre drum with a 90 litre mix capacity. That suits mortar for brickwork, bedding for paving, and small pours such as post and shed bases.
Petrol. It runs off its own engine so it needs no supply on site, which matters on gardens and plots where there is no power anywhere near the work.
Comfortably enough for domestic work such as bases, footings and paving. Past roughly two cubic metres in a single pour, ready-mix delivered is usually the easier answer than mixing it all yourself.
Rinse the drum out, yes. Set mortar is a serious job to remove once it has gone off, so a hose at the end of the day saves everyone the trouble.
Ring the yard and you get a straight answer on whether the cement mixer is available, when it is back if it is out on hire, and whether it is the right thing for what you are doing. If it is not, we will say so.
