Hire Terms

Dry hire only

We hire you the machine, not an operator and not the job. Whoever runs it needs to be able to do so safely and competently. We will run you through the machine when you collect it, and if we think it is the wrong tool for what you are describing we will tell you.

Deposit and ID

A deposit is required on every hire. The amount depends on the machine and is confirmed when you book, the same as the hire rate.

You will need photo id and proof of address when you collect. We cannot release a machine without both.

Damage, loss and theft

While the machine is on hire it is your responsibility. That covers damage beyond fair wear and tear, and it covers theft from your site. If you want that risk insured, it is up to you to arrange it: we do not sell a waiver and we do not insure the machine once it leaves the yard.

This is the part worth reading twice, because a stolen breaker is a bigger bill than the hire.

How long, and what it costs

Hire is by the day, with a minimum of 1 day. The weekend rate covers saturday and sunday.

Off hire runs from the day you ring to tell us you are finished, not from whenever the machine happens to come back. Ring and the clock stops.

Getting it there and back

Collect from the yard at Brick Kiln Lane if you have something that can legally carry or tow it. Check your licence covers the combined weight before you set off, because a standard car licence does not stretch as far as most people assume.

Or we deliver. Delivery is charged and depends on how far you are, so ask when you book. At the end we will collect from site, or you can bring it back yourself.

Looking after it

Machines go out serviced, tested and ready to work. Use it for what it is built for, keep it secure on site, and tell us straight away if something goes wrong with it rather than working on through a fault.

Paying

Cash, card or bank transfer, whatever suits you.
