Running the breaker
The electric breaker is site voltage. On a plot or a drive with no supply, this is what feeds it, and the two are usually hired together.

A 5 kVA petrol generator with both 110V and 240V outlets, so site tools and mains kit run off the same machine. On a plot with no supply yet, in a field, or on a job where the power is going off for the day, this is the difference between working and standing about.
The pairing that matters most in our yard is this and the electric breaker, which is site voltage and needs feeding. If you are taking up concrete anywhere without a socket, the two go out together, or you take the petrol breaker and leave this behind.
It is a carry-it-in machine rather than a gate-width one, so there is no access width to work out. The thing to plan is where it stands once it gets there.
A car boot takes it. It wants to travel upright and the fuel wants to be secured separately, not rolling round in the footwell.
Carried in by hand, so access is not the question it is with the plant.
It still has to get to site: collect it from the yard in Etruria, or we will run it out with the rest of your hire.
Ring the yard if a figure matters to your job and we will check it against the machine before you travel.

Before the supply is connected, everything on site runs off a generator. Tools, lights, a kettle if you are lucky.
Fencing, gates, pumping and anything else out of reach of a socket, which out in the Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside is most of it.
Keeping the essentials going through a planned outage or while the supply is being worked on.
Lighting and small power somewhere with no mains, where a quiet corner out of the wet is all it needs.
A flooded trench in the middle of nowhere needs both the pump and something to run it. Same answer.
Tell us the job and the dates. We will say whether it is in, when it is back if it is out, and whether it is the right machine for what you are doing.
Pick it up from the yard on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, or we will deliver it to site. If you ring early enough and it is free, it can often go out the same day.
We off hire it from the day you ring rather than the day it happens to come back, and collect it from site if we delivered it.

Never in a garage, a shed, a tent or any enclosed space, and not up against a doorway or an open window either. Exhaust fumes from a petrol engine kill people indoors, and they do it without warning.
Add up what you are actually plugging in, and remember motors pull far more on start-up than they do running. Ring and tell us what the tools are rather than guessing at the numbers.
Site tools are 110V with a yellow plug, ordinary tools are 240V with a blue or a three pin. Use the right outlet and the right lead, and do not improvise an adaptor.
Standing water and electricity are a bad combination. Level ground, out of the rain if you can manage it, and not in a puddle that is about to become a pond.
Shut it down and let it cool before you top it up. Petrol onto a hot exhaust is the mistake that makes the news.
Often one we can get straight out, but ring ahead so we can check rather than you turning up on the off chance.
Spot on guys, good price and delivered on time. Machine performed as expected. Would certainly use again.

Used Elite for the first time after using other companies before, wow what a breath of fresh air, prompt replies to messages, Cameron dropped the micro digger off and what a credit to the company he is…

The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a couple of minutes off the A500, so most of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short run either way. Collect it yourself if you have something that can carry or tow it, or we will deliver it to site and collect it when you are finished.
A couple of tools at once rather than a whole site. The thing that catches people out is start-up current, which is far higher than running current on anything with a motor. Tell us the actual tools when you ring and we will tell you whether it copes.
Yes, and that is one of the main reasons people hire it. The two go out together often enough that we will usually ask whether you want both, or whether the petrol breaker suits you better.
No. It runs outdoors only, and not next to an open door or window either. Petrol exhaust in an enclosed space is genuinely dangerous, not a technicality.
Around eight hours, though that depends entirely on what you have plugged into it. Plan for topping up on a long day and let it cool first.
Ring the yard and you get a straight answer on whether the site generator is available, when it is back if it is out on hire, and whether it is the right thing for what you are doing. If it is not, we will say so.
