Tool & plant hire
Newcastle-under-Lyme

Plant and tool hire from the Etruria yard, straight over the A500 and out across the borough.

Micro and mini diggers, dumpers, breakers, wacker plates, cement mixers, saws and generators, hired by the day, the weekend or for as long as the job runs. The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a straight run over the A500, and everything we hire is parked there rather than ordered in.

Access is usually kinder here than across the six towns. Far more of the borough is post-war semi and newer estate with a real driveway and a side gate wide enough for a machine that would never get down a terrace in Burslem, so the mini digger is often the sensible hire rather than the micro. More reach, more weight behind the bucket, and a day on site instead of two.

The borough runs a lot further than people expect, though. Chesterton and Wolstanton in the north are one kind of job. Madeley, Betley and Audley out on the Cheshire edge are farm tracks and gateways built for a tractor rather than a plant trailer. Tell us where the machine actually has to stand and we will work out how it gets there.

Worth knowing locally

What actually catches
people out here

01

You can usually take a bigger machine

Wider side access and real driveways across much of the borough mean the mini digger is often the sensible hire rather than the micro. More reach, more weight and a faster job for the same hire period. Worth a conversation before you default to the smallest thing that fits.

02

Old mining ground to the north and west

Silverdale, Chesterton, Halmerend and out towards Audley all sit on former colliery ground. Made ground, old spoil and the occasional surprise are normal, so allow more muck away than the hole suggests and get a dumper on site rather than discovering the problem halfway through.

03

Newer estates, tighter rules

On the newer developments around Westlands and Bradwell the constraint is often not access but where you can put a machine, a skip and a pile of spoil without falling out with the neighbours or blocking the road. Worth planning the drop point before delivery day.

04

The town centre is a maze of one-ways

Anything in or just off the Ironmarket and the streets around it needs the drop point thinking through before delivery, not on the day. Loading restrictions, pedestrianised sections and permit bays all apply, and none of it is obvious from a postcode. Tell us where you actually want the machine standing when you book and we will work out how it gets there.

05

Out on the rural edge, plan the whole route

Around Madeley, Betley, Audley and Balterley you are into farm tracks, single-track lanes and gateways that were built for a tractor rather than a trailer. Access is usually fine once you are on site. It is the last few hundred yards that catch people out, so measure the gateway and think about what happens if it has rained.

06

Getting it to you

Straight over the A500 from Etruria. Collect if you can legally tow it, and check your licence covers the trailer before you set off. We hire plant trailers. Otherwise give us the postcode and the access and we will bring it.

Asked most often

Hiring in Newcastle-under-Lyme,
answered

How far is the yard from Newcastle-under-Lyme?

About ten minutes. The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, ST4 7BS, straight over the A500 from the town.

Do you cover Kidsgrove and Audley?

Yes, along with Chesterton, Silverdale, Madeley and the rest of the borough. Tell us the postcode when you ring and we will confirm delivery.

Should I hire a micro or a mini digger?

It depends entirely on the narrowest point of the route to where you are digging. A lot of Newcastle property has access wide enough for the mini, which digs deeper and works faster. Measure it and ring us rather than guessing.

Do you deliver, or do I collect?

Either. Collection from Etruria is open from half seven, or we will run it out to site. Say which when you book.
