Hedge cutting
A season of hedge growth is enormous once it is on the ground. Chipped, it is a fraction of the volume.
Micro DiggerGoes through a standard side gate when nothing else will.More info about the Micro DiggerA garden full of branches leaves in bags, not a skip.

A towable petrol chipper that turns branches and brash into chip where it stands. A garden clearance that would have filled a skip twice over leaves in bags, and the chip is useful afterwards as mulch or path cover rather than something else to pay to get rid of.
It covers most domestic tree and hedge work. Tell us the thickest branch you need to put through it when you book, because that is the one measurement that decides whether this is the right machine. It is also a machine that demands respect: everything about how you feed it matters more than anything about how you tow it.
It is 900mm across, so it goes through double gates and most driveways but not a standard side gate. Think about where it can actually stand relative to the pile.
It tows on a 50mm ball. If you are collecting, check your vehicle is rated for it and that your licence covers the combined weight, and if it does not, we will deliver instead.
Carried in by hand, so access is not the question it is with the plant.
It still has to get to site: collect it from the yard in Etruria, or we will run it out with the rest of your hire.
Ring the yard if a figure matters to your job and we will check it against the machine before you travel.
Six of the jobs the wood chipper goes out on most. Keep scrolling and they stack.
A season of hedge growth is enormous once it is on the ground. Chipped, it is a fraction of the volume.
Everything the chainsaw takes off, dealt with on site rather than loaded and hauled.
Overgrown plots and neglected gardens where the brash is the bulk of the job.
Reducing what came down in a night into something you can move without a wagon.
Chip straight onto borders or paths, so the clearance produces something useful instead of a disposal problem.
Green waste is bulky and it fills a skip fast. Chipping first leaves the skip for the things that actually need it.
Tell us the job and the dates. We will say whether it is in, when it is back if it is out, and whether it is the right machine for what you are doing.
Pick it up from the yard on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, or we will deliver it to site. If you ring early enough and it is free, it can often go out the same day.
We off hire it from the day you ring rather than the day it happens to come back, and collect it from site if we delivered it.

The single rule that matters. If something jams, stop the machine, wait for everything to stop turning, then deal with it. Use a push stick, never your hands, and never go in after a branch that is being drawn in.
Thick end into the rollers, and let go. Feeding brushy end first tangles, and holding on to a branch the machine has taken is how people get pulled in.
No loose sleeves, cords, scarves or dangling straps, and gloves that come off easily rather than gauntlets that do not.
One feeding and one clearing is safer and much faster, and it means somebody is there if it goes wrong.
No soil, no stone, no wire and no root balls with grit in them. All of it wrecks the blades and some of it comes back out at speed.
It throws chip a long way with force. Point it away from people, windows, cars and the neighbour is greenhouse before you start feeding.
Used Elite for the first time after using other companies before, wow what a breath of fresh air, prompt replies to messages, Cameron dropped the micro digger off and what a credit to the company he is…

Fantastic experience with Elite Plant Hire! I hired a mini digger and a tracked dumper, and both were top-quality, modern, and reliable machines…

The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a couple of minutes off the A500, so most of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short run either way. Collect it yourself if you have something that can carry or tow it, or we will deliver it to site and collect it when you are finished.
Ring the yard with the thickest branch you have got and we will tell you whether it goes through. Most garden tree and hedge work is well within it. Anything thicker is a job for the chainsaw and the log pile rather than the chipper.
If you have a 50mm ball, a vehicle rated to pull it and a licence that covers the combined weight. Check all three before the day. If any of them is a no, we will deliver it.
No, it is 900mm across and it needs double gates or a driveway. Plan where it stands relative to the pile, because you will be carrying the brash to it rather than the other way round.
Trimmings yes, roots and anything with soil or stone in it no. Grit destroys the blades, and it can come back out of the chute at speed.
Ring the yard and you get a straight answer on whether the wood chipper is available, when it is back if it is out on hire, and whether it is the right thing for what you are doing. If it is not, we will say so.
