Cutting out a section of drive
Score the line, break inside it, and the bit you are keeping stays where it is.
Micro DiggerGoes through a standard side gate when nothing else will.More info about the Micro DiggerCut the line first, then break to it.

A petrol cut-off saw for concrete, block, kerb, paving and slab. It cuts to a clean line, which is the whole reason to have one: a straight edge means you make good once, along a line you chose, rather than a metre either side of where the concrete decided to give way.
It is the saw people ask for by half a dozen names. Disc cutter, con saw, quick cut, cut-off saw. They are all this, and it goes out with the breaker often enough that we will usually ask whether you want both.
Hand carried, so there is no access width to worry about. Under ten kilos and it goes anywhere you do.
A boot takes it easily. It wants to travel upright with the fuel secured separately, and it wants to come back with the blade still on it rather than rattling loose in the back.
Carried in by hand, so access is not the question it is with the plant.
It still has to get to site: collect it from the yard in Etruria, or we will run it out with the rest of your hire.
Ring the yard if a figure matters to your job and we will check it against the machine before you travel.

Cutting kerb and edging blocks square to length, instead of splitting them and hoping.
Cut slabs and block paving to fit at edges, round manholes and into awkward corners.
Cutting the line for an opening through block or brick before anything gets knocked out.
Where the line has to be exact because something is going back into it.
Two parallel cuts through concrete or tarmac, break out between them, run the pipe and reinstate a clean slot.
Tell us the job and the dates. We will say whether it is in, when it is back if it is out, and whether it is the right machine for what you are doing.
Pick it up from the yard on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, or we will deliver it to site. If you ring early enough and it is free, it can often go out the same day.
We off hire it from the day you ring rather than the day it happens to come back, and collect it from site if we delivered it.

Blades are not interchangeable. A blade for concrete and stone is not a blade for steel, and using the wrong one is slow at best and dangerous at worst. Say what you are cutting when you book.
Water kills the dust and it keeps the blade alive. Dry cutting masonry throws silica, which is the genuinely serious health risk on this job, not the noise.
Score, then deepen in stages. Burying the blade in the first pass binds it and that is how a saw kicks.
Wet cutting throws grey slurry a long way and it stains. Cars, render and paving all want covering before you start, not washing afterwards.
It is light enough to use badly. Firm footing, both hands on it, and never above shoulder height.
Cable, pipe and reinforcement do not announce themselves. If you are cutting into something structural or unknown, find out first.
Used Elite for the first time after using other companies before, wow what a breath of fresh air, prompt replies to messages, Cameron dropped the micro digger off and what a credit to the company he is…

Fantastic experience with Elite Plant Hire! I hired a mini digger and a tracked dumper, and both were top-quality, modern, and reliable machines…

The yard is on Brick Kiln Lane in Etruria, a couple of minutes off the A500, so most of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme is a short run either way. Collect it yourself if you have something that can carry or tow it, or we will deliver it to site and collect it when you are finished.
A petrol cut-off saw. People call it a disc cutter, a con saw or a quick cut as well. Stihl is a manufacturer name that stuck, the same way kango did for breakers.
Around 100mm with a 300mm blade. Anything thicker means cutting from both sides, so measure before you plan the job round it.
You should. Water controls the silica dust, which is the real hazard, and it keeps the blade cool so it lasts. Tell us if you have no way of getting water to the cut and we will talk through it.
Only with the right blade. A diamond blade comes with it, which covers concrete, stone and masonry. Tell us if you are cutting anything else when you book, because the wrong blade on the wrong material is how people get hurt.
Ring the yard and you get a straight answer on whether the stihl saw is available, when it is back if it is out on hire, and whether it is the right thing for what you are doing. If it is not, we will say so.
